The Opportunity
Whiddon is seeking an experienced and values-driven Non-Executive Director to join our Board at a pivotal time in our growth. This appointment reflects Whiddon’s next phase of expansion and the Board’s commitment to strengthening future capability, governance and long-term sustainability. As a Director, you will contribute to strategic leadership and oversight, helping guide the organisation through a period of growth, capital investment and sector transformation.
Working collaboratively with fellow Directors and the Executive Team, you will bring independent judgement, commercial insight and the confidence to provide constructive challenge, strengthening decision-making and Board performance.

From our philanthropic beginnings, we have grown into a leading not-for-profit provider, supporting more than 3,000 customers and employing over 3,200 people across regional, rural and remote New South Wales and Queensland. We deliver residential care, community care and retirement living services, with a strong commitment to local communities.
About You
You are an accomplished leader with experience operating at Board, senior executive or advisory level. You bring a strong governance mindset, combined with the ability to contribute strategically to complex, evolving environments.
You will demonstrate:
Priority Capability – Development-Led Expertise
We are particularly seeking a development-led Non-Executive Director with deep expertise in:
Property, infrastructure or capital development
Oversight of large-scale capital investment and development pipelines
Governance of complex project delivery and expansion programs
Strategic growth planning and execution
Commercial strategy, investment assessment and risk oversight
This capability is central to supporting Whiddon’s growth agenda and future development opportunities.
Complementary Capability (Valued)
We also welcome candidates who bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
Oversight of large-scale organisational transformation
Governance of growth strategy across multi-site or multi-jurisdiction environments
Digital, data and AI-enabled decision-making
Innovation, service redesign and emerging care models
Alternative funding models, commercial ventures or revenue diversification
