This is a full-time permanent role located at Whiddon Support Services in Glenfield, offering a hybrid working model.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on partnering with others, confidently shaping business direction through data-driven insights, and providing financial leadership across a broad operational landscape.
You’re a commercially-minded finance professional with 3+ years’ experience in a similar business partnering, FP&A, or commercial finance role. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field (CPA/CA/CIMA preferred but not essential). You possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—you can simplify complex data, tell compelling financial stories, and influence with confidence. You have a proven ability to work collaboratively with operational leaders, challenge constructively, and help drive performance. You also display strong analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling and identifying key business drivers and trends.
Importantly, you come with Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, and hands-on experience with Power BI dashboard development. We are looking for someone with a proactive, curious mindset—you enjoy problem-solving and always look for ways to add value. An understanding of the aged care sector and relevant legislation is desirable.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this dynamic and collaborative role, you’ll act as a bridge between finance and operations, working closely with business leaders and care teams to:
- Provide timely, accurate and relevant financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Meet regularly with operational budget holders to set financial optimisation plans and performance targets, monitor progress, and help guide their focus to achieve the greatest possible benefit
- Influence and support business performance, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimisation
- Collaborate and challenge constructively, building trusted relationships across multiple stakeholder groups
- Co-lead the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with business cases, investment analysis and financial modelling to support growth initiatives
- Use advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, and develop insightful Power BI dashboards to analyse both big and small data, presenting information in a way that informs decisions and inspires action
- Monitor sector-specific trends across Residential Care, Retirement Living and Home Care to inform decision-making
- Play an active role in transformation projects and systems improvement initiatives
- Support the Financial Controller on broader financial responsibilities such as month-end reporting, treasury, investments, workers comp, asset register, and general ledger reconciliations
